ALE, operating under the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise brand, is providing a comprehensive portfolio of products which deliver a seamless user experience, high speed internet access and empowers employees at Medcare to engage in a collaborative work environment.
The premium healthcare brand operates in the UAE with a wide network of state-of-the-art facilities. Aiming to create a regionally and internationally recognized healthcare system that promotes and supports the highest standards in preventive, curative and rehabilitative healthcare, Medcare provides quality care across 15 hospitals and clinics, including the new industry-leading Medcare Women & Children Hospital.
The IT team at Medcare was looking to implement a converged network infrastructure across six facilities as well as two additional clinics, which are set to open in Motor city and Falcon city. Medcare’s goal is to converge all sites in the future to provide doctors and staff a high-quality work environment and faster access to knowledge, improving patient care across each hospital and clinic.
By installing the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise converged solution, over 1,500 users now have instant access to medical information, such as MRI scans and X-Rays. The new networking solution now gives priority network bandwidth to critical areas of hospitals and medical centers like the operating room, ensuring information is readily available so doctors can make potentially life-saving decisions.
Medcare deployed a mix of Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise networking and unified communications products, including the Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch® Data Center and Campus Access Switches, OmniAccess® Wireless LAN Controllers & Access Points, OmniPCX® Enterprise Communication Server and Premium Deskphones.
The robust and highly available network allows Medcare employees and patients to access information seamlessly and encourage a better collaborative environment. The implementation of the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise solutions will improve efficiency across numerous departments, offer scalability and introduce uninterrupted access to internet for employees and patients.
An additional benefit of the solution is that the converged data and voice network is centrally managed by the network management team. The IT team now has real-time insight and greater control over network status and operations, which significantly reduces outages and bottlenecks.
