Leading party plan company PartyLite, the world’s largest direct selling company of candles and candle accessories, has implemented an Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise communications network based on its advanced OpenTouch™ technology. Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise OpenTouch Multimedia Services solution delivers enhanced communications services and collaboration features through a single platform, enabling employees across 17 European countries to benefit from a Unified Communications experience regardless of device or geographical location.
The new solution, implemented by Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise business partner Seiler & Klimpel Communication GmbH, integrates over 700 PCs, deskphones and mobile devices, and provides PartyLite with much needed employee mobility. The cloud-based system is centrally administered though the OmniVista 8770 Network Management System and can easily be adapted to meet changing demand without incurring any additional CAPEX expenditure.
PartyLite country organisations work independently of each other, but the company wished to run a centralised IT system in order to benefit from simplified administration and network management, to take advantage of lower and more transparent costs, and to provide the same high level communications experience across all its European geographies. This was achieved by migrating to a centralised Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch solution operated from PartyLite’s private cloud in Heidelberg, Germany and serving users from anywhere. This approach offered a smooth transition into the modern world of Unified Communications as a Service whereby some employees continue to use their desk phones while other users make phone calls via the OpenTouch Conversation software client on their PCs, tablets or smartphones.
Heiko Muffert, Supervisor IT Support at PartyLite Europe Technology GmbH - “We wanted to update our communications capability to enable us to continue providing a reliable service to our customers across all our geographies, improve levels of employee collaboration and to simplify the management requirements of the network. This new system meets these requirements, in a way that allows us the flexibility to respond to changes in our communication needs.”
Christian Förg, Head of Sales, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise - “With this new system, PartyLite has implemented an ambitious communications overhaul, but this is what Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise kit is designed for. The combination of our technology and our cloud delivery models means we are able to meet the needs of businesses which require flexible and reliable communications in order to better serve their customers and which also offer good business value.”
Patrick Kratz, enterprise applications specialist, SKC - "The implementation at PartyLite was one of the most challenging projects we have done in our 25-year company history. Given the high complexity of the installation, the good cooperation with the PartyLite IT managers was a key factor of our success."
