Locanda dell’Arte has installed a new communications system to provide guests with a personalized connected experience while visiting its Alessandria hotel. Guests of the 30 suite hotel can access staff members via the new system, without waiting, from anywhere in the facility.

Locanda dell’Arte is a four-star hotel, with 30 suites and a spa, which caters to travelers who like to explore nature and culture.

Locanda identified the need for a separate, more mobile phone system for management and restaurant lines to contact employees within the structure and in external areas, including reaching management over intercoms. To compliment this goal and meet customers’ needs, Locanda installed wireless Internet access in every room.

Aviatel, an Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise business partner, implemented the OpenTouch® Suite for SMB with hotel features and DECT technology. An Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess® IAP (Instant Access Point) based Wi-Fi infrastructure was also installed. These, along with other new capabilities of the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise telephony solution, are fully integrated with the existing third-party property management system.

Today, internet connectivity is available in every area of the hotel, including the Spa, the restaurant and external areas. With a single DECT terminal it is possible for Locanda staff to manage the entire structure and attend to guests needs without the need to always be at the reception desk. The new infrastructure allowed the Locanda to reduce its maintenance costs, personalize the infrastructure and, thanks to the staff using cordless phones, offer customers the possibility to reach employees without waiting, from anywhere in the Locanda.

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise solutions were implemented in April 2015.
