The two companies are joining forces in response to increasing customer demand for network equipment based on open standards and communications technology that can be easily integrated with new or existing systems to enable customizable business solutions. Efforts will be launched first in Sweden and then rolled out to Denmark and Finland.
The deal is a significant step in driving the growth of Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise networking and unified communications (UC) technology in the Nordic region. It will greatly increase the availability of these solutions to the market through Ingram Micro’s well-established network of local resellers and specialist systems integrators.
This will increase the speed at which resellers can respond to customer needs and allow them to deliver the equipment faster. It will also give a greater number of systems integrators the opportunity to deliver businesses technology that has been developed with interoperability and integration as a core part of its design – ideal for the success of network performance.
The distribution deal is part of an ALE strategy to develop new business opportunities for intelligent network design. It will initially focus on the company's Unified Access solution, and the recently launched Intelligent Fabric networking solution. It also includes the entire communications portfolio of UC and telephony equipment for small, medium and large companies.

Thomas Berger, Regional Director, Nordic & Baltic Region, ALE
“Ingram Micro is a great fit for us as a value added distributor as they know and understand the local markets, the needs of resellers and the needs of the end customer.
There is great creativity in the IT channel in this part of the world. We want to capitalize on that by putting Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise technology in their hands so they can build the solutions and services that they know their customers need. Ingram Micro is in the position to do this with its well structured distribution model.”
