ALE, operating under the brand Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, has teamed up with BMW to become the official Connectivity Partner for the BMW International Open, the longest-running European Tour event in Germany since 1989. ALE will be responsible for implementing the entire IT and communications infrastructure for this year’s Tour Event, which runs from June 22-26 at Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof, Cologne.
Germany's premier golf tournament and one of the highlights of the European golfing calender, the BMW International Open, attracts some of the game's greatest stars and over 60,000 sports fans each year. This year, organizers, partners, VIPs, and journalists from around the world, along with the thousands of visitors can stay connected throughout the tournament via secure high speed internet access both on and off the course.
Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise solutions will support the event, ensuring a personalized connected visitor experience via a full local area network (LAN), wireless LAN, and IP telephony communications platform for the event organizers and the world's media. Seamless connectivity can also be accessed from the club house, public areas, and the course grandstands.
